Bio

Wes Carson is a fine art photographer, educator, and photographic consultant based in Chicago. Through private mentorship and one-on-one consulting, he helps photographers build confidence, strengthen their technical foundation, and make more purposeful work. His clients range from beginners overwhelmed by cameras, software, and workflows to experienced photographers refining projects for the web, books, and exhibitions.

With more than 40 years of professional photographic experience and over 20 years of teaching, Carson is known for a calm, patient, step-by-step approach. He works with clients on photographing, editing, sequencing, workflow, post-processing, color, printing, and troubleshooting, helping them move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Carson began photographing professionally in 1984 and later assisted Irving Penn in New York. He earned a B.A. in Advertising Photography from the Brooks Institute of Photography and an MFA in Art from the University of Miami. Since 2006, he has taught analog and digital photography at the university level. His photographs have been published in photo books and exhibited nationally and internationally.
